Welcome To Testimonies From Visiting Teams To Yakama Nation

A Leader's Testimony.........

"I recently had the privilege of visiting the director of the
Open Door Mission on the Yakama Indian Reservation. I was amazed
to discover that it was like being in another country. We went
to deliver to a family where the father of 7 young children had
committed suicide. In the Yakama culture, when a family member
dies, the family gives everything away. I went with the director
to take the family pots, pans, hygiene items and toys for the
children. The family was so grateful! I never realized how
essential this ministry is. Supporting Open Door Mission is just
like supporting a missionary who is half a world away, but who
is literally in our own backyard."

Youth Testimonies............

"...the joy on those peoples faces when we go and work at their
houses makes me feel appreciated.  One time when we were
done cleaning one man's house, he was in tears, he was so
touched by what we did.  The outreach has also prepared me
for the future work of the ministry.  It has given me a chance to
help people of this Valley who aren't able to do things by
themselves."

-------

"...I was part of a group that went to a single parent's home with a
paraplegic son that did not have the time to keep up his property.
We pulled weeds, put up fences and painted his house.  Seeing
the look on his face made it worth it.  I'll never forget what the
Outreaches have done for me personally."

-------

"I like the Outreaches because they changed my life by giving me
a chance to help people and touch them in a way many people
can't.  It is encouraging to be able to see the effect the work you
do has on the families.  It's also a way to meet and fellowship
with people from your own age group."

Several of these Youth and Adults visited the Mission for six years in a row just to be with the LORD in a special way!
